As a critical portion of world gardens, classic Italian gardens, especially ancient Roman and Renaissance gardens, have significantly influenced the European gardens. Additionally, the design elements and gardening logics in classic Italian gardens recur in contemporary high-rise green buildings. Therefore, interpreting the selected gardens at different stages of Italian history, tracing their design elements and gardening logics can be helpful to explore the design trends of contemporary high-rise green buildings.
