On Saturday, February 14, 2026, the inauguration of Nature and Innovation in Cascina takes place through two exploratory walks, presenting the interventions on the green and cultural heritage carried out in the outdoor areas of Cascina Linterno and Cascina Sant’Ambrogio (CasciNet), as part of the European project HeritACT.
The event, promoted within the framework of the European project HeritACT—of which Stefano Boeri Architetti is a partner together with the Municipality of Milan, LAND, IAAC, and THINGS—aims to inaugurate the interventions on the cultural and landscape heritage implemented in the outdoor areas of Cascina Linterno and Cascina Sant’Ambrogio (CasciNet), the project’s pilot sites.
A day guided by the designers to discover how small interventions, developed together with local communities, can strengthen the social, cultural, and environmental role of the cascine.
The inaugural event is structured in two moments: from 09:45 to 11:30, the walk at Cascina Linterno, and from 12:15 to 13:30, the walk at Cascina Sant’Ambrogio (CasciNet).
Within the first, the Research Department of Stefano Boeri Architetti, in collaboration with the Department of Architecture of the University of Patras and with the support of engineers from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, developed the Green Tensegrity installation—a shaded pergola integrating beekeeping, education, and landscape: an inclusive space for meeting, learning, and protecting biodiversity.
During the morning, the participatory process that led to the creation of the design solutions will be presented: from concept to realization, through workshops, meetings, and experiments that have actively involved local stakeholders over the past three years.
