Stefano Boeri Architetti shortlisted in the Architectural Competition for the Transformation of the Zváračák Site in Bratislava.
The international architectural and urban design competition for the future transformation of the Zváračák administrative and production site on Račianska Street in Bratislava is moving into its next phase.
The aim is to create a compact urban district with an emphasis on affordable housing, high-quality public space, and functional integration with its surroundings.
The first open pre-qualification round of the competition attracted significant international interest from architectural studios worldwide.
Dozens of architectural practices submitted their proposals, with strong representation from several European countries as well as from Asia – including China and South Korea.
The proposals were evaluated by a seven-member expert jury. Four jury members are external experts – architects, urban planners, and a representative of the City of Bratislava. The remaining three members represent the developer, Račianska – Reality, a.s.
Based on the evaluation of the submitted proposals, the jury selected three studios to advance to the second round of the competition.
This is Stefano Boeri Architetti’s second competition in Bratislava, following their winning entry, Urban Oasis for Chalupkova.
