Stefano Boeri Architetti is among the teams selected for Phase 1 of the international urban design and architectural competition Kodaňská 1441, launched to define the new urban block in the Vršovice district of Prague.
As also reported by the Czech press, including Stavbaweb, the competition received 65 international submissions, from which the jury shortlisted 11 teams from the Czech Republic and abroad. Among them, the team composed of Stefano Boeri Architetti, ESA, GROSS.MAX, and Systematica has been officially admitted to Phase 1 of the competition.
The Kodaňská 1441 competition focuses on the transformation of the former Chemapol industrial complex, with the aim of developing a new urban block capable of integrating residential functions, public spaces, services, and green infrastructure, contributing to the regeneration of the district and to the environmental and social quality of the contemporary city.
Following the selection, the shortlisted teams have been invited to take part in the first official competition workshop, which will take place in Prague on 11 February 2026 and will include a site visit and the presentation of the brief by the client and the involved stakeholders.
The competition will continue over the coming months with further design development phases, at the end of which the winning proposal for the realization of the new urban masterplan will be selected.
