world urban forum
10th february

On Monday 10 February, Stefano Boeri Architetti participates in the tenth edition of the World Urban Forum, based in Abu Dhabi, which over the years has become the main international meeting for the exchange of views and experiences on sustainable urbanization in all its facets. The inclusive nature of the Forum, combined with high-level participation, makes it a unique United Nations conference and the main international meeting on urban issues. The World Urban Forum has as main objectives those of:

  • raising awareness of sustainable urbanization among stakeholders and constituencies, including the general public;
  • improving collective knowledge on sustainable urban development through open and inclusive debate, exchange of best practices and policies, and sharing of lessons learnt;
  • promoting collaboration and cooperation between different stakeholders and constituencies engaged in the advancement and implementation of sustainable urbanization.

Specifically, for Stefano Boeri Architetti there is Livia Shamir – architect and member of the research group of the studio – who attends the event entitled “Nature-Based-Solutions for increased sustainability and resilience of the urban development“, which is attended by various international organizations including FAO, Un_Habitat, Cities4Forests, Royal Gardens Kew, Arbor Day Foundation, City of Muscat, German International Cooperation Agency GIZ, City Manager IMEPLAN (Metropolitan Area Of Guadalajara, Mexico) and which deals, among the main themes, with the project Great Green Wall of Cities.
