Stefano Boeri a trans[heat]ions

On February 26 and 27, the conference trans[heat]ions – Urban Design for Heat Island Effect Mitigation takes place at the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, featuring a keynote lecture by Stefano Boeri.

The search for solutions to mitigate Climate Change represents one of the main challenges facing contemporary cities. Sustainable development is the goal of international and national climate programs, which promote sets of actions aimed at climate change adaptation and at the protection and restoration of ecosystems. Urban Design for Heat Island Effect Mitigation is presented as a strategy for ecological transition in the metropolitan areas of Rome and Naples.

The conference is organized within the framework of the PRIN 2022 research project trans[heat]ions and is structured into four main thematic sessions, in addition to keynote lectures and a final round table: Thinking the Urban Climate (theoretical, cultural, and critical foundations of the relationship between architecture and climate); Designing the Climate Transition (case studies and design practices for mitigation and adaptation); Methods, Tools, and Collaborative Practices (models, simulations, and operational tools for integrating climate data into design); Ecologies of the Built Environment (strategic and systemic visions for rethinking the relationship between architecture, landscape, and ecosystems).

In this context, on Friday, February 27 at 3:30 pm, Stefano Boeri presents Architecture and Resonance. 20 Years of Reflections and Projects, a lecture on the design philosophy of Stefano Boeri Architetti, along with selected examples of architectural and urban projects.
