On the occasion of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the Brera Academy, the Culture Commission presents a series of 5 conferences dedicated to Architecture & Design, featuring the participation of Stefano Boeri.
Since its founding, the Academy has considered the teaching of design one of its primary objectives. Through leading figures in contemporary architecture, and supported by a broad historical overview, the five lectures aim to retrace this journey.
On Wednesday, May 20th at 5:00 PM in the Sala Napoleonica, Stefano Boeri will give a presentation on the dialogue between drawing, photography and architecture, revisiting a selection of relevant projects by Stefano Boeri Architetti — including the installation in the Sala del Cartone di Raffaello at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan, and the scenic design for Euripides’ tragedy The Trojan Women set against the backdrop of the Greek Theatre in Syracuse — in memory of the millions of fir trees felled on October 29, 2018 by Storm Vaia in the forests of north-eastern Italy, in the Carnic Alps.
Other speakers include: Mario Cucinella, Founder and Creative Director of MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects; Maria Vittoria Capitanucci, Professor of Theory and History of Contemporary Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano; Ugo La Pietra, Artist, Designer and Architect; Juan José Lahuerta, Professor at the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB).
