As part of the Public Program of the exhibition “Andrea Branzi by Toyo Ito. Continuous Present” at the Triennale di Milano, the event Andrea Branzi: autodidattica takes place, with the participation of Stefano Boeri.
The event aims to explore Andrea Branzi’s long teaching career, starting from his academic experiences in Florence, through the creation of the permanent training school Global Tools, to his direction of the Industrial Design course during the founding years of Domus Academy — the first postgraduate design school — up to his long collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano and, finally, the founding of the “Scuola di Piazza Bausan”. In recalling these experiences, friends, collaborators, students and colleagues offer an overview of the themes explored and the many investigations into the deeper meaning of design and the human condition, conducted through courses, workshops and doctoral research led by Branzi.
In this context, Stefano Boeri participates as a speaker, presenting the Grand Paris project, developed together with Andrea Branzi in 2008, and the Animal City workshop — work by students of the Politecnico di Milano between 2014 and 2016 — both of which were part of the 2023 exhibition at the Fondation Cartier in Paris entitled Animals in the City.
