Lars Müller Publishers publishes the book The Albanian Files, which brings together contributions from sixty international studios currently active in Albania, including Stefano Boeri Architetti.
Albania is a young democracy with a population of nearly three million people. The country lies at the heart of the Mediterranean; its geographical position has long influenced cultural exchanges and the urban fabric. Thirty years after the fall of the communist regime, Albania is still in a period of transition — culturally, socially, and architecturally. This ongoing renewal has placed architecture at the center of national debate and has created concrete opportunities for architects. The Albanian Files focuses precisely on this transformation.
In this context, each studio has submitted a contribution reflecting on its own experiences in Albania and on the architectural works built and designed there.
The Stefano Boeri Architetti contribution focuses on the studio’s experiences in Albania, ranging from the masterplan for the future of Tirana 2030, to smaller-scale projects such as Blloku Cube, West Residences, and Tirana Vertical Forest — all completed — and, finally, those still under construction, such as the new vehicle registration office in Tirana.
