World Architecture dedicates an article to Rivista Studio’s annual event, organised on 26 November 2022 in partnership with the Milan Triennale and SKYtg24. Among the planned conferences was a dialogue between Stefano Boeri and Michele De Lucchi, moderated by Giuseppe De Bellis (Director of SkyTG24), in which the architects shared their views on how to rethink the future of architecture and cities.
According to Stefano Boeri, today we have to move towards an “extraordinary acceleration”, so we can no longer speak of a “linear future” as in the last century, but of an accelerated and “exponential” future. This vision coincides with the need to change the concept of inhabiting, or rather, cohabiting the world with living nature.
As examples of this paradigm in which city and vegetation coexist, the Bosco Verticale in Milan and the vision for the Dubai Vertical Forest, a declination of the first prototype in an arid climate, are cited.
