nuovo policlinico su repubblica

On La Repubblica, an article by Fiorella Minervino presents the project New Policlinico di Milano, designed by Boeri Studio (Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca, and Giovanni La Varra) as part of the consortium led by Techint S.p.A..
The project consists of a pair of aligned buildings for hospital wards and outpatient services, along with a central structure. Atop this central volume, visible from the ward areas, will be the world’s largest therapeutic rooftop garden. The green project, developed with LAND, envisions various spaces and activities on the green roof, including medicinal herbs, a yoga area, pet therapy, and children’s playgrounds, all for the benefit of patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
“The idea was to involve nearby institutions, such as Sormani and La Statale, in events and participate in the green space management,” says Stefano Boeri. “It will be the largest rooftop garden ever created in a hospital, and new scientific studies in America confirm how plants provide psychological support to patients.”
