trudo vertical forest

In issue 309 of the French magazine AMC, dedicated to biodiversity and environmental and social sustainability, an article is dedicated to the Trudo Vertical Forest project in Eindhoven, the first vertical forest applied to social housing.

The building designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti houses 125 flexible housing units on 19 floors, of limited size but characterised by the spatial extension of the terraces, which house at least one tree each: the result is a new micro – ecosystem, inhabited by young students and couples as well as trees, plants and birds.

Overall, in fact, the Trudo Vertical Forest hosts 135 trees of various species on its four façades, to which are added about 5,200 shrubs and smaller plants and other vegetation, for a total of about 8,500 plants.
