Special event at the National Library Braidense in Milan on April 7th at 11:30 am “The Writing and the City”: dialogue between Rem Koolhaas and Stefano Boeri. The dialectical relationship between urban Language and architecture’s Word, semantic and syntactic implications of this relation, they were the subject of a long debate in the history of modern and contemporary. Sixteen years after the publication of Mutations and after several collaborations on Domus and Abitare, Rem Koolhaas and Stefano Boeri covering the topic of “La scrittura e la città” (The writing and the city), on the occasion of the third masterclass of Icon Design Talks. The dialogue, moderated by Manuel Orazi, will have as its starting point the mutual publications of the two architects on the topic and will develop various issues related to a fundamental question: “why an architect should write about a city when his modification is already a powerful act of writing on the physical structure of the city? “
