The municipal council, at the proposal of Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Public Works Pietro Piciocchi, approved the final project for the construction of the House of Families – dedicated to the relatives of the victims of the 2018 Morandi Bridge collapse – and the Museum of Memory, a place of remembrance, documentation and public denunciation. The approved projects are part of the first lot of the Bridge Park Memorial.
Designed by the temporary grouping led by Stefano Boeri Architetti, the 14.08.2018 Memorial has been interpreted as a place of mourning and at the same time of hope, composed of both private and collective spaces: the House of the Families; the Museum of Memory; the Bioclimatic Greenhouse, a botanical regeneration space; and the Meeting Point that concludes the visitors’ itinerary.
