Studio Stefano Boeri Architetti has been invited to take part in the project of the Masterplan of Sustainable development for the french region Nord-Pas-de-Calais together with the International team led by the ideologist of the Third Industrial Revolution Jeremy Rifkin.
The special task of our studio was to make a customized proposal to the development of the Region in the following 30 years. According to the idea of Jeremy Rifkin the transition to the Third Industrial Revolution has to be done through 5 Pillars. As a studio of architecture we were particularly asked to work on the second one – “BUILDINGS AS POWER PLANTS”.
A crutial moment in the development of the project was the Executive Seminar that took place on-site, in the city of Lille (Nord-Pas-de-Calais) on the 13th-15th of May 2013. The members of our team (SBA+ADlib) had a chance to present the results of our work to the whole consortium and to the representatives of the Region. The first draft of the Masterplan is going to be presented in October 2013. Stay tuned!
