On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Zaha Hadid’s death, Hans Ulrich Obrist pays tribute to her with the exhibition Zaha Hadid: “I Think There Should Be No End to Experimentation” at LUMA Arles, which also features a contribution by Stefano Boeri.
The exhibition marks the sixth chapter of Obrist’s “Archives” series and traces the architect’s work through paintings, drawings, archival materials, and previously unpublished interviews, highlighting her radical approach to design as an open field of continuous experimentation.
The show places particular emphasis on a dimension of Hadid’s practice that is often less visible: her graphic and painterly research, conceived as a laboratory to overcome the limits of traditional geometry and to anticipate architectural forms not yet buildable.
Within this context, Stefano Boeri contributes with a poster titled Being Zaha Hadid. The work revisits and reinterprets the cover of the issue of Abitare that Boeri had entirely dedicated to the architect during his tenure as editor-in-chief, transforming an editorial gesture into both a critical device and a visual tribute.
