On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 7:30 PM, the Italian Cultural Institute in Amsterdam hosts the presentation of the book Bosco Verticale. Morphology of a Vertical Forest, organized in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in The Hague, featuring the participation of Stefano Boeri, Francesca Cesa Bianchi (Partner at Stefano Boeri Architetti) and architect, researcher and lecturer Katja Hogenboom.
Drawing on the experience of Stefano Boeri Architetti, the event offers an opportunity to reflect on the role of urban forests as ecological and social infrastructures, through a non-anthropocentric architectural lens. The conversation aims to highlight the collaboration between Italy and the Netherlands in promoting a more resilient and inclusive urban model that integrates nature into urban spaces and embraces the life and needs of both human and non-human inhabitants.
Five years after the completion of Trudo Vertical Forest and one year after the completion of Wonderwoods Vertical Forest, the event is an occasion to explore the present and future of green architecture, discussing its environmental, social and urban implications.
The book, edited by Stefano Boeri Architetti to mark the tenth anniversary of the project, traces the history of the Bosco Verticale in Milan, with an editorial structure that evokes the growth of a tree through its roots, trunk and branches.
