As part of Dutch Design Week 2026, Stefano Boeri Architetti takes part in the seminar “From Vertical Forests to Nature-Based Cities: Scaling Nature-Based Solutions from Green Buildings to Inclusive and Climate-Resilient Neighbourhoods”, which takes place on Tuesday 20 October at Melkfabriek De Caai, Kanaaldijk Zuid 1, Eindhoven. The event celebrates the 10th edition of Italian Design Day and is promoted by the Embassy of Italy in The Hague, the Italian Trade Agency and the Italian Cultural Institute.
The seminar focuses on the evolution of Nature-Based Solutions and Urban Forestry, exploring how principles developed through the integration of nature into architecture extend to the scale of neighbourhoods and cities, contributing to more inclusive, resilient urban environments capable of responding to contemporary climate challenges.
Stefano Boeri contributes with a video speech, while Francesca Cesa Bianchi, Partner at Stefano Boeri Architetti, takes part in the panel discussion alongside representatives from Trudo, LOLA Landscape Architects and De Urbanisten.
The seminar explores the relationship between architecture, nature and the city, as well as the potential to integrate living systems, biodiversity and green infrastructure into urban transformation strategies. From the scale of the building to that of the neighbourhood, the research considers nature an active element of design, capable of enhancing the quality of urban space, climate resilience and social inclusion.
