Stefano Boeri Architetti su the brief

The Brief publishes an article on the occasion of the Forum dell’Abitare – Le Città Vincenti event, where Stefano Boeri participated as a speaker, presenting some of the green projects by Stefano Boeri Architetti.

From the various adaptations of the vertical forest type, such as Trudo Vertical Forest in Eindhoven, the first example of a fully social housing vertical forest, to Wonderwoods in Utrecht, currently under construction, to the retrofitting strategies implemented in Prato and Brussels, the article focuses on the studies and solutions proposed by Stefano Boeri Architetti for equitable and accessible urban regeneration.

It is no longer just a design issue, but also a social and political one. Today, any investment in the real estate sector must measure its impact not only on the environment but especially on the communities, addressing how city policies can reduce inequality among people.

“The possibility that urban planning, architecture, the real estate sector, and public policies can decisively intervene on the issue of inequalities is the necessary condition to enable an equitable ecological transition. Furthermore, there is a fundamental issue we must acknowledge: inequalities and climate change are structurally intertwined. This is precisely why the countries most affected by global warming today are the ones least responsible for the greenhouse gas emissions causing the current environmental crisis,” declares Stefano Boeri.
