Il Giorno, in its Monza Brianza section, features an interview by Marco Galvani with Stefano Boeri, focusing on the projects by Stefano Boeri Architetti currently under development in the city of Monza.
“Monza is a very unique city, where we are fortunate to take on something exceptional: advancing three very different projects in terms of location and purpose. A residential condominium construction, a social housing renovation, and an intervention on a medieval building. From the center to the outskirts, with diverse target audiences,” states Stefano Boeri.
The first project is an Integrated Intervention Plan on Via Foscolo, where the redevelopment aims to reduce building density and, consequently, maximize open spaces, including green, pedestrian, public, and private areas.
Another project, currently under construction, involves the redevelopment of Aler public housing for the U.O.G. Monza Brianza. This initiative seeks to improve the living quality of residents through architectural and energy regeneration of two buildings on Via Baradello, at the heart of Monza’s industrial area. The project aims to restore dignity to living spaces, working towards a high-quality welfare model encompassing environmental, economic, and, most importantly, living sustainability. These combined actions on public residential buildings are designed to activate processes of urban and social regeneration.
Finally, the studio’s vision for the Arengario, a historic building in Monza, is also mentioned, pending formal commission.
