Policlinico di Milano su Cose di Casa

Inside the Cose di Casa website, an article entitled Rooftop garden: plants and lawn to improve air and save energy, focuses on rooftop design – a valuable resource both from an environmental point of view and for the liveability of the city – citing as an example the new Polyclinic of Milan, designed by Boeri Studio.

Among the advantages of the green roof are the thermal insulation of the building below, the reduction of noise pollution, the improvement of the urban climate and the absorption of microparticles.

In addition, the Milan Polyclinic project, while preserving part of the original pavilion structure, presents a roof garden of over 7,000 square metres, which is initially reserved for the patients and operators of the various wards, but which in the future may be opened to the public for special events of a recreational and therapeutic nature.

Among the main Urban Forestation projects planned in Milan, the Polyclinic’s green roof is enriched by the added value linked to the chromo-therapeutic potential of its landscape, with its changing essences in the different seasons. It also contains a rehabilitation garden, furrowed by paths with different levels of difficulty related to various types of flooring.
