Gambero Rosso, the journal of Italian gastronomic excellence, dedicates an article to the Polo del Gusto of Amatrice and to the eight historic restaurants that have found a new home. The new area dedicated to food, local products and conviviality, inaugurated on July 29th 2017, allows the Amatrice community to relive the Christmas tradition and represents a new beginning for restaurateurs after the earthquake of August 24th, 2016. The realization of the Polo del Gusto was possible thanks to the solidarity of Italians through the initiative “Un Aiuto Subito” promoted by Corriere della Sera and TG La 7. Stefano Boeri Architettidonated and coordinated the project. A video produced by The Blink Fish for Stefano Boeri Architetti tells all the efforts made by the community to reconstruct the spaces, the life of Amatrice restaurateurs, the building of the canteen and the Polo Del Gusto, giving voice to those who believed in Amatrice’s rebirth after the disaster.
