Stefano Boeri nominated curator of the second edition of SUSAS 2017 (Shanghai Urban Space Art Season 2017) together with Professor Li Xiangning – Professor and Presidency Assistant of Tongji University and curator of contemporary Chinese architectural theory – and Fang Zhenning, artist and international reviewer and curator of public and modern art.
SUSAS, which will be inaugurated in September, is the most important event of urban design, architecture and public art host by the Municipality of Shanghai. The themes of the event will be public spaces and practices of connection and disconnection in metropolitan public places. The initiative want to compare the connection flows that make us constantly connected on the network and the metropolitan solitude as absence of bodily and sensory interactions.
