Friday, March 24 marked the opening of the exhibition Garden Futures. Designing with Nature at the Vitra Design Museum (Weil am Rhein), the first to explore the history and future of green spaces in the city using a wide range of examples drawn from design, everyday culture, and landscape architecture: from deck chairs to vertical urban farms, from contemporary community gardens to living buildings, and gardens by designers and artists such as Roberto Burle Marx, Mien Ruys, and Derek Jarman.

The final section of the exhibition examines contemporary projects that address the integration of greenery and the city, including the Bosco Verticale in Milan, designed by Boeri Studio. In an era of climate crisis, threatened biodiversity and social isolation, greenery offers a place to reimagine the future and develop solutions-a place of healing, spirituality and learning. In the age of the Anthropocene-this is the message of these and similar projects-the entire planet emerges as a garden that we must cultivate, care for and use responsibly.

The architecture of the exhibition is designed by the designer duo Formafantasma.

Also on Thursday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. is a lecture by Stefano Boeri entitled Green Obsession, which examines the philosophy that has guided the projects of Stefano Boeri Architetti studio, with a focus on the typology of the vertical forest, integrating the plant sphere with the human sphere, in a new vision of biodiversity architecture.
