On December 15th, the Department of Urban Planning of the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University and the Sino-Italian Design Innovation Base hosted the third Symposium on Urban Design Research and Teaching entitled “The Frontier of Urban Design in the Context of Urban Regeneration,” which was attended by Stefano Boeri.
The seminar focused on the cutting-edge exploration of urban design in the current context. Experts and scholars from the Architectural Society of China, Tsinghua University, Politecnico di Milano, Southeast University, Tongji University, Tianjin University and many other domestic and foreign universities and institutions participated.
Stefano Boeri’s speech, titled “Green Obsession – Toward Urban Forestry,” featured a presentation and in-depth discussion of some of Stefano Boeri Architetti’s projects at both the architectural and urban scales, with a focus on forestry in buildings and cities.
Other guests included: Wang Jianguo, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, vice-president of the Architectural Society of China; Alessandra Guidi, Scientific Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Beijing; Secretary General Li Cundong; Zhang Jie, vice-president and professor of Beijing Union University, secretary general of the Urban Design Branch of the Architectural Society of China; Laura Montedoro, professor at the School of Architecture and Urban Design, Politecnico di Milano; Italia Laura Pezzetti, associate professor at the School of Architecture, Planning and Engineering, Politecnico di Milano; Huang He, deputy director and associate professor at the Department of Urban Design, School of Architecture, Tsinghua University.
