Stefano Boeri partecipa a The Future of Accessibility and Green Ecology in Shenzhen.

On Friday, March 22nd at 2:30 PM in Shenzhen, Stefano Boeri participates in The Future of Accessibility and Green Ecology in Shenzhen, presenting projects from the Stefano Boeri Architetti studio, with a focus on the architectural projects under construction in China.

Starting from the Green Obsession philosophy that guides the projects of Stefano Boeri Architetti studio, the presentation will focus on the applications of the vertical forest typology in various functions and climates: reducing costs with sustainable and innovative technological solutions, as in Eindhoven, the first vertical forest entirely dedicated to social housing; or radically changing the urban landscape and people’s expectations for a future sustainable city, in a place where pollution is a very serious problem, such as in Huanggang or Nanjing in China; or adapting to a different climatic context, as in Egypt, where priorities are completely different – for example, water management.

Shenzhen is also where Stefano Boeri Architetti is developing the Rehabilitation Center project, currently under construction: a public building, entirely accessible and integrated into the urban fabric of the Longhua district, which develops pioneering concepts of social inclusion and cohesion, related to the theme of disability, both motor and cognitive. The complex, adjacent to an urban park and directly connected to the city’s light mobility system, is conceived in its entirety as an ecological hill facing the natural landscape. A place of healing and inclusion immersed in greenery, whose accessibility to services and the comfort of spaces are the keys to a project that challenges conventions and opens a new perspective on rehabilitation, going beyond the traditional concept of a place for mere patient long-term care and becoming a true space for interaction and well-being in close contact with nature.
