Following the inauguration of the Vertical Forest in 2014 and the awards (CTBUH 2015 and The International High-rise Award 2014), Stefano Boeri has published a book with Corraini Edizioni that compiles the intimate and hidden layer of inspiration and strategies behind the Vertical Forest: “a house for trees and birds, inhabited also by humans, in the Milan sky”
The book features four sections: “Seven inspirations” from popular music to urban theories, from Celentano to Ebenezer Howard, the inspiration of a life between political demonstrations, art, and houses in the forest. “Tales from the vertical forest” a series of fictional tales depicting this silent and homogeneous cohabitation present in the towers of the Vertical Forest. “An Illustrated dictionary of the Vertical Forest in 100 items” a mix compendium of elements involved in the project and “Learning From VF01” a prospective manifesto that gathers the experience of the Vertical Forest as the first prototype of a non anthropocentric model of urbanisation: the Forest City.
