Lezione di Stefano Boeri al Politecnico di Bari

“Green Obsession, visions of urban forestation” is the title of the Lectio Magistralis that architect Stefano Boeri will hold in Bari on 6 February at the Politecnico di Bari (11.30 am), in the Aula Magna “Domus Sapientiae” of the Department of Architecture, Construction and Design.

Starting from the experience of the Bosco Verticale in Milan, architect Boeri will present his design philosophy, experimented in various cities around the world. The Lectio Magistralis will focus on the integration between living nature and architecture, towards a new way of designing and inhabiting contemporary cities, through the implementation of urban forestation at different scales. Among the projects presented will be the new intervention to be built on the Vittorio Veneto seafront in Bari.

The initiative is promoted and organised by the Politecnico di Bari, with the patronage of the Municipality of Bari, the Regional Federation of the Order of Architects PPC and the Order of Engineers of the Province of Bari.

The lecture will be preceded by the institutional greetings of the Rector of the Politecnico di Bari, Francesco Cupertino. This will be followed by those of the mayor of Bari, Antonio Decaro; the director of the ArCod Department of the Politecnico di Bari, Carlo Moccia; the president of the Federazione Architetti PPC della Puglia, Paolo D’Addato; the president of the Ordine degli Ingegneri della Provincia di Bari, Umberto Fratino; and the president of the Consulta per l’Ambiente del Comune di Bari, Antonella Calderazzi.

Only participation in attendance at the event, also streamed live on the Politecnico di Bari YouTube channel, offers engineers and architects the opportunity to acquire training credits.

Admission is open to the city.
