From May 3 to September 27, 2026, the LWL-Museum Ziegelei Lage presents Fantastisch bauen (Build Something Amazing), a workshop exhibition dedicated to experimental approaches to architecture and construction in the face of today’s environmental and social challenges.
The exhibition explores innovative building materials, research initiatives, and visionary projects that rethink the future of the built environment at a time marked by housing shortages, limited resources, and climate change. Through a selection of projects from different contexts and scales, Fantastisch bauen investigates how architecture can respond to contemporary crises through new ecological and technological imaginaries.
Among the projects featured in the exhibition is Bosco Verticale in Milan, designed by Boeri Studio and completed in 2014. Conceived as the first prototype of a new architecture of biodiversity, the project is presented within the exhibition as an example of the integration between living nature and architecture.
Hosted in the spaces of the former brickworks museum in Lage, the exhibition invites visitors to discover architectural experiments and construction practices that move beyond conventional solutions, opening new perspectives on the relationship between humans, nature, and the built environment.
