Stefano Boeri Architetti takes part in the DLD international network’s visit to Tirana, leading up to the DLD Nature event to be held in Munich from January 15 to 17, 2026.
As part of the DLD tour, on June 3 the delegation will visit Stefano Boeri Architetti’s ongoing projects in Tirana, in particular the Tirana Vertical Forest, with a presentation by Carlotta Capobianco, Project Leader at SBA and co-director of the firm’s Tirana office.
The first Vertical Forest in Tirana, designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti, rises in the urban center near the capital’s Grand Park (Parku i Madh i Tiranës). The new building, adjoining an existing structure on one side, opens to the city on the other three sides, hosting 3,200 shrubs and plants alongside 145 trees. Its fully glazed façades, composed of floor-to-ceiling windows, maximize the connection with greenery and city views, enhancing the visual impact of the lush vegetation, which also serves to mitigate air pollution.
The development consists of a 21-story tower above ground and four underground levels. Above a mostly commercial podium, the tower contains 105 residential units. The project embodies the concept of Urban Forestry for cities and metropolises around the world, serving as both a strategy and a vision of a building that opens itself to the city and the surrounding landscape.
