On April 10th and 11th, at the Aula Magna of the Politecnico di Milano, the event “A gentlemen planner” takes place, two days of study in memory of Luigi Mazza, emeritus professor of the Politecnico di Milano recently deceased, with the participation of Stefano Boeri.

On Wednesday, April 10th, during the morning session titled “Urban Planning Reform Trials,” Stefano Boeri engages in a dialogue with Pierluigi Nicolin in an event titled “Nine Parks for Milan, the Latest Vision,” dedicated to the interpretation and new visions arising from the publication of the Urban Design Laboratory, City of Milan.

The urban design laboratory proposes to initiate the process of urban redevelopment by introducing into the city’s fabric, with particular attention to peripheral areas, a series of coordinated projects where the building substance is organized around the new central urban parks.

The proposal of the “Nine Parks for Milan” transcends the individual areas of intervention and constitutes a project for the entire city, as the planned interventions aim to redistribute a series of energies and resources and to produce an urban reconfiguration of the Milanese area, introducing a plurality of development sites and points of new interest. With the new configuration introduced by the nine parks, a redistributive system of resources will be determined, open to a recovery of the periphery as well as to new aggregations even beyond the boundaries of the municipal territory.
