Lungomare di Cagliari su Il Quotidiano Immobiliare

In the 546th issue of Il Quotidiano Immobiliare, an article titled Quality Architecture for Cagliari’s Recovery was published, featuring the project “A Green Promenade for Cagliari’s Waterfront”—presented by the temporary consortium composed of MATE Società Cooperativa, Stefano Boeri Architetti, StudioSilva, S.T.P., MIC-HUB, and archaeologist Demis Massimiliano Murgia—following their successful bid for the redevelopment of Cagliari’s waterfront.

The article also highlights the meeting held on June 12, 2025, organized by Il Quotidiano Immobiliare as part of its City and Opportunities series, dedicated to the city of Cagliari. Hana Hosi Narváez Bautista, Director at Stefano Boeri Architetti, attended the event to present the project.

The new urban and landscape intervention by Stefano Boeri Architetti aims to restore the social and environmental value of Cagliari’s waterfront through a green promenade that revives the original 19th-century role of Via Roma. Drawing upon Cagliari’s tradition of tree-lined boulevards, the project envisions a continuous, pedestrian-friendly, and shaded public space that acts as a “green lung” and connector — both longitudinally, from the railway station to Piazza Ingrao, and transversally, linking the city to the sea.

In this way, the new promenade initiates the creation of a new park and a public space opened up to the city, serving as a key link between the waterfront and the main civic facilities that face it, and enhancing the area’s cultural, social, and environmental value.
