vertical forest

In the edition of TG3 that was broadcast on Saturday 19 April, Davide Bertorello and his collaboration with the tightrope walker Andrea Loreni were featured. Loreni is the protagonist of the crossing between the skyscrapers of Porta Nuova, from the Vertical Forest to the UniCredit Tower, which is 140 metres high and 205 metres long.

Andrea Loreni has extensive experience of travelling by air over numerous Italian cities (including Turin, Bologna, Rome, Venice, Florence, Genoa and Brescia) and abroad (including Switzerland, Serbia and Israel). Thailand and the Sogen-ji temple in Japan (situated above the lake) successfully completed the challenge during the second edition of BAM Circus – Il Festival delle Meraviglie al Parco (conceived and directed by Francesca Colombo, Cultural General Manager of BAM, Riccardo Catella Foundation), overcoming various difficulties and technical innovations.

Starting from the Vertical Forest (Boeri Studio), the prototype of a new architecture of biodiversity, which no longer places humans at the centre, but the relationship between humans and other living species, tightrope walker Andrea Loreni walked on a 20-millimetre diameter dyneema rope. Several technicians hung from the rope in front and behind him, moving with his movements to stabilise it. This broke the record for the highest walk in Italy.
