The industry website Designverse has dedicated an article to Wonderwoods Vertical Forest, designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti as part of the urban regeneration plan for Beurskwartier, the new pedestrian area adjacent to the Central Station.
The plan also includes a second tower, designed by MVSA Architects, which is connected to the first by a green pedestrian bridge.
In particular, the Wonderwoods Vertical Forest project by Stefano Boeri Architetti is a 104-meter tower that reinterprets the Vertical Forest model—characterized by an extensive presence of trees and plants—in a mixed-use key. Following the Bosco Verticale in Milan and the Trudo Vertical Forest (dedicated to social housing) in Eindhoven, Wonderwoods Vertical Forest is the world’s first Vertical Forest featuring public functions open to citizens, with the aim of making this innovative architectural typology increasingly integrated into the urban fabric and accessible to all.
The building, inaugurated in early 2025, houses around 200 apartments of various types designed for a diverse range of residents, along with commercial activities, sports and leisure areas, and dining spaces.
In 2025, the building received several international awards, including the New Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Awards (New SCAHSA) 2025, in the category Building & Community: Global Model of Smart Green Building/Community.
