On Monday, May 26 at 6:00 PM, the Piccolo Teatro di Milano hosts On the Life of Forms (Sulla vita delle forme), a conversation between art historian Giovanni Agosti and Stefano Boeri, exploring themes of education and memory, the ephemeral and the permanent, exhibition design and the city.
The event is part of Agorà della Cultura, a series of four high-level public talks organized by the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, aimed at “exploring the multiplicity of our time, interpreting it through various fields and perspectives—from medicine to science, from art to architecture, from technological to humanistic knowledge. Each event features two distinguished guests—scholars, experts, and professionals—engaging in an open conversation, blending popular science, in-depth insight, and curiosity, guided by questions and commentary from prominent figures in journalism.”

Drawing from the title and inspiration of a renowned reflection by Henri Focillon on the relationship between life and form—between inner creation and its manifestation in space and time—Giovanni Agosti (born 1961) and Stefano Boeri (born 1956) engage in a dialogue that crosses boundaries between education and memory, the transient and the lasting, exhibition design and the urban fabric.
