On Wednesday, July 23, at 10:00 a.m., the Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea Viani – Palazzo delle Muse (Piazza Mazzini – Viareggio) will host the presentation of the Structural Plan for the City of Viareggio. Mayor Giorgio Del Ghingaro and Stefano Boeri are scheduled to attend.
The Plan, developed by Stefano Boeri Architetti and coordinated by the Municipal Technical Offices, aims to establish a medium- to long-term vision for Viareggio. This vision is centered on preserving and enhancing the city’s identity, considering both environmental and socio-economic factors. These include the ecosystem of the Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli Natural Park, an area of extraordinary natural value, and the shipbuilding industry, a field in which the city is internationally renowned for its excellence.
The plan outlines specific actions to be taken in the area, beginning with the identification of four ecologies that define the city’s urban and environmental fabric: the Dense City Ecology, the Sea Ecology, the Pine Forest Ecology, and the Inhabited Countryside Ecology.
In line with these ecologies, the plan outlines four objectives for a resilient, innovative, and inclusive Viareggio where the city center and suburbs interact within a sustainable urban ecosystem equipped with accessible, widespread, and integrated services.
