On Friday 31 October 2025, Milan will host ‘Cities for Impact 2025: Europe of Cities‘, an event dedicated to urban innovation and sustainability. Organised by the urbantech company SuperUrbanity, it will be held with the patronage of the European Space Agency (ESA). Livia Shamir, Director of the Research Department at Stefano Boeri Architetti, will participate.
The event aims to turn debate into action by positioning cities as platforms for governance, urban innovation and active citizenship.
The “Europe of Cities” focus highlights that urban areas themselves are capable of addressing major global challenges, including climate change, social inclusion and energy transition, not only governments and institutions. Through case studies, applied technologies and feasible local policies, the initiative fosters collaboration between the public and private sectors, academia and civil society, to promote a resilient, democratic and competitive European vision.
In Milan’s Milano Innovation District (MIND), Livia Shamir will deliver at 2:40 PM an inspirational talk entitled ‘Nature in the City’, discussing green growth, urban regeneration, energy, and climate justice.
This event provides a platform for cities, businesses and European institutions to share concrete solutions and best practices. The aim is to promote democracy, inclusion and sustainability by making cities economic, social and cultural drivers.
