AD Germany has published an article dedicated to apartments located within six of the world’s most iconic buildings, featuring—among others—the penthouse on the 24th floor of Milan’s Bosco Verticale, designed by Boeri Studio.
“On the 24th floor of the taller tower lies an elegant apartment designed by Coima Image and Giopagani. Refined surfaces, bespoke furnishings and built-in elements, together with carefully curated materials, enhance the light that—filtered and diffused through the tower’s lushly planted façade—illuminates the interiors of the residence.” This is how journalist Clara Meyer describes the project in her article, which also highlights other internationally renowned buildings in London, New York, and Dubai.
The Bosco Verticale is the only Italian example featured. Comprising two residential towers measuring 110 and 76 metres in height, it stands in the heart of Milan’s Porta Nuova district. Together, the towers host 800 trees, 4,500 shrubs and 20,000 plants representing around a hundred different species, distributed according to the façades’ solar exposure.
The Bosco Verticale’s vegetation is equivalent to about five hectares of woodland on level ground—concentrated, however, on a surface area of only 1,000 square metres, fifty times smaller. The environmental benefits are manifold: absorption of fine dust and CO₂, oxygen production, optimized water management, reduction of noise pollution, and an overall improvement in quality of life—for people, plants, and animals alike.
