On September 12 and 13, the annual Urban Health Culture Lab 2025 conference takes place in Copenhagen, with Livia Shamir, Director of the Research Department at Stefano Boeri Architetti, participating.
The event, titled How To Engage Communities And Places In A New Urban Health Culture, organized by INTA – International Urban Development Association, brings together professionals in urban planning, architecture, health, and governance to explore how cities can act as engines of well-being and care in an era of accelerated urbanization, climate stress, demographic change, and rising health inequality, when new coalitions are needed to create healthier cities.
The program is spread over two days: the first day is dedicated to presentations, roundtables, and Q&A sessions with the audience. Topics include “Cities for Health,” focusing on urban health as a spatial and political priority; “People for Health,” addressing mental well-being and inclusive design; and “Nature for Health,” exploring the creation of regenerative and sensory environments.
The second day offers a hands-on experience in Copenhagen, titled “Urban Health by Water.” The program includes a guided boat tour of Copenhagen’s harbor, where urban planning strategies and healthy city initiatives will be explored from the water.
Within this context, on Friday, September 12, at 11:25 AM, Livia Shamir presents some of the studio’s projects and their design philosophy as part of Session 1: Cities for Health.
Other participants in the session include Torben Klitgaard, CEO of BloxHub, DK; Kira Fortune, WHO Regional Advisor, DK; and Dr. Sabina Mujkic, Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia.
