The website of AD España, on the occasion of REBUILD 2025 in Madrid—the largest European event dedicated to digitization and sustainability in the construction sector, attended by Stefano Boeri and Hana Narvaez Bautista, respectively partner and director at Stefano Boeri Architetti—has published an interview by Beatriz González with Stefano Boeri.
Starting from the tenth anniversary of Milan’s Vertical Forest (Boeri Studio), inaugurated in 2014 in the Porta Nuova district, the article explores the concepts and inspirations behind the “Green Obsession” that drives the studio’s international projects, while also delving into themes central to Stefano Boeri’s architectural vision.
“Architecture is about anticipating the future. At the same time, it is the ability to concentrate a whole world of inspirations, suggestions, and ideas into a single physical artifact. It is a complex but fascinating task. It is always a balance between the ability to read the past, reflect on the present, and foresee the future. So, it’s about time, not just space.
I believe trees are individuals, somewhat like us. Each tree has a specific soul, a unique evolutionary path. A way of connecting with other individuals of the same species or those of different ones. We should seek a more intense and meaningful relationship with them: more trees in our cities and more humans in the forests, so we can understand each other better,” says Stefano Boeri.
