It is estimated that air pollution in China is causing mortality for 40,000 people every day. Liuzhou Forest City<\/strong><\/a>, designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti<\/strong><\/a> in south of China, will be the first urban settlement, in Asia and in the world, to counteract pollution through the capacity of plants to absorb CO2 and\u00a0pollutants\u00a0in the air. Stefano Boeri<\/strong><\/a>, interviewed by Camille Hazard for Paris Match<\/strong>, explains that in Liuzhou will live 30,000 people, the Forest City will host 40,000 trees and 1 million plants of over 100 different species, able to absorb 10,000 tons of CO2 per year. It will produce oxygen and more energy than it consumes, will promote biodiversity and coexistence among living species.<\/p>\n
