The city of the future is the smart city.<br \/>\nThe European and American smart city vision is dominated by the concern of making the big historical centers intelligent, increasing the fluidity of transport and communications, waste disposal, energy and water distribution in cities that already exist and are likely to become too clogged .<br \/>\nIn emerging countries, however,\u00a0the vision tends\u00a0to build new greenfield agglomerations,\u00a0to plan cities\u00a0in the way to cut emissions, thanks to the most innovative technologies for energy efficiency. There are two different ways for a common goal: maximally saving scarce resources. In China, the pilot project for the future of the smart city is inspired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stefanoboeriarchitetti.net\/en\/stefano-boeri-biography\/\"><strong>Stefano Boeri<\/strong><\/a>&#8216;s architect\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stefanoboeriarchitetti.net\/en\/portfolios\/vertical-forest\/\"><strong>Vertical Forest<\/strong><\/a> in Milan. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stefanoboeriarchitetti.net\/en\/\"><strong>Stefano Boeri Architetti<\/strong><\/a> has been called by the Liuzhou Municipality to design <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stefanoboeriarchitetti.net\/en\/portfolios\/liuzhou-forest-city\/\"><strong>Liuzhou Forest City<\/strong><\/a>, the world&#8217;s\u00a0first forest city covered by over one million plants and 40,000 trees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>November 7th, 2017 Alarming data on urban pollution and population growth forecasts of cities suggest that the future of metropolises should go in the direction of sustainable development.
