Spotlights on the\u00a0Vertical Forest<\/strong><\/a> model, which is cause of discussion for the media around the world. The interview issued by Architect Stefano Boeri<\/a> to AFP (French press agency) is\u00a0reported by an international media channel\u00a0Publinews\u00a0in Guatemala. The project of Vertical\u00a0Forest “was born from my tree obsession – explains Architect Boeri – and from a reflection on how they can\u00a0become an essential component of architecture. In 2007 I was in Dubai\u00a0observing that city in the middle of the desert, with more than 200 glass towers that multiply the effect of the heat”, he recalls. Here is what has shaped the idea of \u200b\u200ba building that “can not only accommodate life but also helps to reduce pollution, thanks to the ability of trees to absorb CO2 and fine dust”.
\n“Cities now produce about 75% of CO2 in the atmosphere and bring more trees to the city means fighting the enemy on\u00a0its field” says the architect, explaining the way in which the Vertical\u00a0Forest model is one of the possible answers and how the architecture can help to counteract the effects of climate change.
\nThe two Vertical Forest towers, with more than 20,000 plants and trees, the equivalent of two hectares of forest, are a world-class concept\u00a0replicated\u00a0across the globe, from Holland to China.<\/p>\n
