Precisely to assess the progress of the works and take stock of the next steps, today, February 9, 2026, the construction site was visited by architect <strong>Stefano Boeri<\/strong> (site director together with architect Corrado Longa), the Extraordinary Commissioner for Reconstruction Guido Castelli, the Lazio Region\u2019s Councillor for Reconstruction Manuela Rinaldi, the Mayor of Amatrice Giorgio Cortellesi, and Don Savino D\u2019Amelio, President of the Don Minozzi Foundation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"765\" data-end=\"1471\">Among the most significant developments is the imminent completion of the largest courtyard in the complex, the so-called \u201cCourtyard of Welcome,\u201d the functional heart of the new structure. The project includes 87 rooms intended to host more than 150 young people, a 300-seat theater, and a 250-seat cafeteria\u2014spaces designed to accommodate communities, students, visitors, and collective activities. After work was suspended between 2021 and 2023, the construction site is now fully active, and all four courtyard areas planned in Stefano Boeri Architetti\u2019s project (Civic Courtyard, Courtyard of Silence, Courtyard of Welcome, Courtyard of Arts and Crafts) have reached ground level and are now visible.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"2116\">In detail, the Civic Courtyard will become a 4,760-square-meter public building for municipal use; the Courtyard of Silence (5,670 square meters) will host the headquarters of the National Organization for Southern Italy (religious hospitality and a residence for the elderly); the Courtyard of Arts and Crafts (1,150 square meters) will house areas for training, education, and local start-ups. The current stage of the works demonstrates the concrete transition from the design phase to full construction activity and marks a decisive step toward the realization of a permanent social facility for Amatrice and the entire Apennine territory.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2676\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\u201cIt is truly moving to follow the rebirth of the Don Minozzi complex in Amatrice. The Courtyard of Welcome, the most imposing building embracing the Church of Santa Maria Assunta (whose design is progressing thanks to coordination with the Superintendence for the metropolitan area of Rome and the province of Rieti), is now entirely above ground, and the other three courtyards are rapidly emerging from the soil.
