Cremona Sera<\/strong> publishes an article on the progress of the construction site at Palazzo Corteverdi<\/strong><\/a>, the project by Stefano Boeri Architetti for the redevelopment of the former Bank of Italy<\/strong> building in Cremona. The construction site has now reached its final stages, with most of the main works completed.<\/p>\n

The project reinterprets the building\u2019s former banking function into a residential complex, also through the addition of new open spaces, loggias, and terraces in the internal courtyard. A lightweight metal structure outlines a pattern of solids and voids, ensuring abundant natural light within the interior spaces while enhancing the visual connection between the inside and outside of the building.<\/p>\n

The ground floor, in line with the design principles behind the intervention, reconnects the building to the city by opening it up to collective uses. This is achieved through the use of the external portico, literally opening the building to interaction with the urban fabric.<\/p>\n

Overall, the project aims to give the former Bank of Italy<\/strong> building in Cremona added functional and environmental value, guided by principles such as land use reduction, built heritage regeneration, energy efficiency, and enhanced integration with the urban context. While maintaining a strong relationship with the historical preexistence, the project preserves the formal appearance of the exterior, while the internal courtyard sees a contemporary reinterpretation of the fa\u00e7ades.<\/p>\n
