The Belgian magazine Bouwkroniek tells about Antwerp’s ambitious projects that lately are attracting the best architects from the international field to work at the new city development. Especially the Nieuw Zuid area, which is the one that is mostly involved in the new projects, will have 2000 new apartments, 38 new buildings and 12 green hectares. Probably one of the most important project that has never been imagined in Belgium.
In addition to Johannes Norlander, Vincent Van Duysen, Peter Zumthor, Max Dudler, Stefano Boeri Architetti has designed a residential building which apllies Urban Forestry principles in a building –Palazzo Verde– that will present a semi-public garden at the ground floor and three huge terraces designed to host three roof gardens able to guarantee the best distribution of plants and social activities.
