Stefano Boeri Architetti and laq_architettura have recently been mentioned in a competition for the conception of a new multifunctional space in the city of L’Aquila.

Here the abstract of the proposal: the Reconstruction Museum of L’Aquila 2009 > 2019

The Reconstruction Museum of L’Aquila is a place oriented to three historical level – at the same time to the past, the present and the future of the city: a general archive of all materials on the earthquake documentation, a multimedia permanent workshop for the collective participation and a social-cultural incubator for the next project on the city. As a plugin of the temporary headquarters of the National Museum of Abruzzo region, MAQRI is the missing knot which set in and complete the system of object that one by the other give a concrete shape to this cultural synthesis. Within a frame of continuous duality, from the monument of Novantanove Cannelle to this new place of the earthquake memory, the history of L’Aquila restart from Borgo Rivera: toward and beyond “L’Aquila Capitale della Cultura 2019”.
