Promoted by Siemens Real Estate, the 180.000 sam master plan for the new SIEMENS Headquarter in Milan, of which a first phase of 103.000 sqm is to be completed by the year 2011, will include 80.000 sqm of office space, services and a 30.000 sqm public park.

The proposal is based on a 4-part system of courtyards placed in a east west orientation. Its homogenous three story base is punctuated by a series of towers and vertical elements of varying heights that, given their dislocated positions, give a sensation of movement and differentiated rhythm to the whole structure. A series of strips, characterized by different uses of the space and changing densities and types of the green spaces that are present in all of them mark the organizational principal behind the project.

The project is thus based on an articulated and flexible system, that is able to transmit a single, distinct and corporate image, and sustainable design that combines active and passive energy saving strategies.
