The New Palazzo del Cinema of Venice is a big-scale “device” for performances, entertainment and research on moving images and visual arts. An architecture that develops around a metamorphic space: the structure of the large hall (2,400 spectators) can turn into a public square thanks to the vertical movement of the ceiling.
Around this multifunctional and changing space (at times a frame for dreamy movie experiences, a space for open-air shows and installations, sometimes just a public square), the Cinema Museum, the foyer, smaller theatres, offices, the jury box, etc. are all organized on different levels.
