PROJECT FOR THE NEW EPANO SKALA HARBOUR IN MYTILENE

March 22, 1997

The building of a breakwater was the first step in planning. The breakwater is not simply a technical feature to protect the bay from the waves; it becomes a lived-in facility that can be walked along. A walkway across the width of the construction, flanked by two walls ,leads to the arch at its extremity. The slope of the walkway varies, and hence the height of the wall changes as one walks along it.
